Free and ongoing Outdoor Immersion and Mental Health for Columbia Gorge youth
Our Partners
We are grateful to our funders, partners and donors who make our work possible. They also contribute ideas, volunteers, in-kind support, and more—towards regenerative and equitable communities.
CultureSeed partners with Washington Gorge Action Programs to provide meaningful internship experiences for youth, use of the White Salmon Community Youth Center and food from the Food Bank. CultureSeed also refers youth and families to WAGAP’s Pathways Program, shelter and domestic violence programs.
CultureSeed contracts with the White Salmon Valley School District to provide mental health counseling and community referrals to the White Salmon Academy two days a week.
Many other organizations have been generous in support of our mission, such as The Mount Adams Institute who provided surplus outdoor gear for our program participants, as well as Trout Lake Abbey and Ekone Ranch who provide discounted rates in support of our youth outings and overnights.
Brimstone created a scholarship fund to support access to outdoor top rope climbing, day passes, shoe rentals and opportunities to join their competitive climbing team for our year-round cohort and Outdoor Mentorship Program youth.
Brave Endeavors uses action to help boost confidence. Through the power of mountain biking and strength training individuals learn to step out of their comfort zone, improve their skills on the bike, and be more brave. Brave Endeavors offers mountain bike programs for CultureSeed youth that focus on skill development and confidence building and adult skills clinics as well as personal mtb lessons and strength training programs.
Hood River Mountain Bike Adventures has generously donated their time and mountain bikes for our cohort outings as well as supported in storing bike donations to be used by youth outside of our outings.
Doug’s Hood River gives free rentals to any youth involved in CultureSeed programming. This includes snowshoes, skis, snowboards and cross country gear!
evo has generously supported CultureSeed with a variety of initiatives including our recent transportation fundraising campaign entitled "Will you Help us Get There?"
CultureSeed is aligned with evo's Community Impact priorities — in their words: "Millions of young Americans face an opportunity gap, with limited access to the support systems that lead to possibility. Safety. Education. Nutrition. Healthcare. Relationships. There’s also a gap in access to the outdoors, which is proven to deliver measurable and lasting benefits to a young person’s mental and physical wellbeing"
Friends of the Columbia Gorge is the only conservation organization entirely dedicated to protecting, preserving, and stewarding the Columbia Gorge for future generations.
David and Michael Hanson of MODOC have supported CultureSeed by documented our work through photos and videos since 2017. David Hanson followed CultureSeed into NORCOR for photos of our Bending the Bars initiative and his footage can also be seen in our most recent promotional video.
Society Hotel provides use of their indoor Sanctuary space for CultureSeed’s peer circles as needed.
Nestled within the jaw-dropping Columbia River Gorge, The Society Hotel Bingen offers a refined off-the-beaten-trail experience for travelers and getaway-seekers alike. There are surprises around every corner in this converted schoolhouse, beautiful communal spaces for sharing moments with friends and fellow travelers, and blissful relaxation waiting for you in our underground sanctuary and brand-new spa.
Local Xicana orchardist Alma Gaeta donates certified organic peaches for youth and families, grown in Hood River at Peachwood Orchard. Alma also joined us as a CultureSeed mentor.
Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute and Rivers for All support rafting trips for our youth. Due to the pandemic they facilitated a one family per raft bonding experience for our youth and their families.
Rivers for All is a former CultureSeed Community Program—fiscally sponsored and supported community led initiatives that resonate with our mission.
"CultureSeed has done a tremendous job establishing and stewarding the Rivers for All program through its beginning stages. We're extremely thankful for their time and resources invested in Rivers for All and we're excited to build a deeper relationship between Gorge Ecology and CultureSeed as we collectively work together to support the local communities. Gorge Ecology is looking forward to managing the programmatic and administrative tasks associated with Rivers for All while we also learn from CultureSeed as we continue to build more inclusivity into our organization." —Drew Eastman , Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute Executive Director
